So you might be wondering why each page only has a few books listed, especially from someone who owns hundreds. Well I do own lots of books, but when I had to move them all home this summer I feared I might own too many.
I don’t use everyone every year due to time and favoritism. If I don’t read them then I do share a lot with teachers, but they tend to enjoy the same books as well. So here’s my plan- I want to purge and not just my books.
My goal as I start this new school year is to add to this blog the books I am using, the books I am enjoying and pulling off my shelf the most. So as the year continues you will see the pages growing. If you need more in the meantime follow me on Pinterest, Instagram and Good Reads.
I am also doing this with TPT. I have sooo many amazing purchases thanks to the amazing counselors, social workers, and teachers out there. However, I tend to use the same ones and forget about purchases from years ago.
So here is my challenge to myself:
- Buy only 5 books! I want to really be selective about what I buy and save money. I will still work with our librarian to make book suggestions, so this is only about books coming out of my own pocket.
- No more than 1 TPT purchase. I want to re use old purchases and share with you my favorite tried and try resources. I also want to get away from paper lessons and have more class discussions, incorporate art, and do more team work games.
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all that’s out there and I want to share with you what works for me and my books. Of course this is total personal- I love pineapples and dogs, but you may love camping. So if you need a book or resource, just ask!
